I wish I could say with my experience that you just need to hang out with the right kind of people in order to fill your life with the right kind of mentality. However this is only partially true as the wrong crowd has a tendency of finding you. We can all relate to this, as nobody is perfect or flawless in their actions. We have a tendency to attract that which we focus on.
The wrong crowd is at the library, at your school, next door, in your church (or group), hanging out with your friends and essentially everywhere around you. The problem is that you don’t know who they are. A poor man can not conceal his poverty but a king can conceal his wealth. How are you to tell the difference? Therefore it is important that you sturdy yourself independent of social conditioning so you will not be swayed by the manipulator and you will not depend on those hiding kings for your salvation. Do not desire the pleasure of admiration of those who you can benefit and you will find that you are a pillar that holds the roof over humanity and sturdy the foundation of society.
“Be not hasty to condemn others; how knowest thou that in their place, thou couldest have resisted the temptation? And even were it so, why shouldst thou despise one who is weaker than thyself?”
The wrong crowed will find you, and when they do, will you be ready?
