Is My Love Lost?

I used to know what it felt like to shine like a star,
I remember the moments well as if the feelings are not that far.

it was your presence that made such an impression on me
so many dates, so many moments, yet I still think of she,

We were so young, so foolish and bad
Couple mistakes and the moments turned sad

I saw the notebook for the second time last night
Oh what a pity when she mentioned it and I put up a fight
I did not think of you like you thought about me
Thats what I told her and now I sit here and bleed

I'm falling in love but how could that be
Shes no where in front and how could I love what I cant see
But shes happy with her new found love

mmm, will her love come apart
Will she ever come back to the warmth of my heart

Ahh, shes developed courage and fights for her dreams
does she know how much that makes my heart scream

shes seen the best and worst of me from what I can see
afraid she is of me because she hesitates to regard me

I'm not what you depicted me to be
Of course I'm not perfect and have lots of humility

So I made mistakes and I cannot change the past
Everything seems good today, but you should know that not everything lasts

I understand how many times I shot your ego down
Maybe that's how it was supposed to go down

don't forget that all good endings have bad beginnings
Its that yin and yang balance which can reveal your true winnings

Of course I do not know it all.
and of course I'm shameless with this poetic call

I don't sit idle especially when my dreams are at hand
I do what I must even if on my feet I dont land

the best lessons I've learned are from doing everything wrong
the biggest rewards came after the sad song

So yes I cant help but think about you
You asked me once if I need you and now I finally know I do

I'm patient so your not off the hook,
I fell from grace and that's when our second meetings took

I didn't rave so I made some wild mistakes
No harm done, it was needed to get rid of the fakes

Yes its true I looked like a big fool
But I learned that to be true is better than to be cool

So I'm true and you still haven't met me
If I think of you like this, then I know that you will never forget me

You see, you already know that love comes in pairs
you could waste time, have fun, but love doesn't care

I don't have to ask if you love me,
you may still not like me but your love will never flee
our souls are intertwined no matter how cloudy our perception can be
